Firstly, a huge thank you to rancorbait for standing in on my behalf for the past couple of days, he has done an excellent job in my absence.

Today we are presented with another mini model after the slight disappointment of yesterday. On day two of this year's Advent Calendar there was some confusion as to exactly what the model was. The Geonosian Nantex-class Starfighter today confirms that on day two we received Count Dooku's Solar Sailer, which will go nicely with this model.

The Geonosian Starfighter is an interesting vehicle, and one which is captured fairly well in LEGO here. The ship has previously appeared in two sets, 4478 and 7959, although not at this scale before. In my opinion, although the general shape of the ship is captured well, with the twin prongs and laser cannon at the front, cockpit on the top and thruster at the rear, the smooth curves of the vehicle are missing. This organic appearance is key to the vehicle and so the model suffers as a result.

Nevertheless, the main features are all here, and although there might be some aesthetic improvements which could be made, this is a nice representation of the Geonosian Starfighter.

Overall - 3.5 - A fair model, but too square for a Geonosian Starfighter, and it does not capture the organic design of the ship in the film (although the main features are present).
